Though they have little in common, small-town mayor's daughter Mitsuha (voiced by Mone Kamishiraishi) and Tokyo-based part-time waiter Taki (Ryunosuke Kamiki) find, through a strange cosmic convergence, they've begun having spells where they'd awaken in the morning occupying one another's body!
As they comically try to sort out their situations-and track one another down-their shared quests lead to an uncannily stunning fate, in this moving fantasy that became Japan's highest-grossing anime feature.
